It doesn’t look like anything like gingerbread to us, and yet it also looks irresistibly delicious.oliver says that this recipe is his attempt to replicate a recipe from a shop in the lake district that he visited years ago.

You could even give your gingerbread@an added twist by adding biscoff spread.@add 3 tbsp biscoff spread, 2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp ground ginger and 5 tbsp golden syrup to the dough prior to the chilling stage and there you have it!these. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Use this to glue your gingerbread pieces together.
Made these for the first time grandson loved them he has now made them with his mum lovely. We are so intrigued by this gingerbread from jamie oliver. One of my faves, jamie oliver, loves grasmere gingerbread and since he was not able to get ahold of the top secret recipe (it’s locked in the national westminster bank in ambleside), he created his own version which he says is almost as good and “some of the best gingerbread you’ll ever eat”….
